Safra Catz
Safra Catz (born December 1, 1961) is an Israeli-American business executive. She is the CEO of Oracle Corporation, a multinational computer technology corporation. Catz has been an integral part of Oracle's leadership since she joined the company in 1999.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Safra Catz was born in Holon, Israel. She moved to the United States at the age of six. Catz earned a bachelor's degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1983 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1986.

Early Career[edit | edit source]
Before joining Oracle, Catz worked in the investment banking sector. She was a managing director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, a position she held from 1997 until 1999.
Oracle Corporation[edit | edit source]
Catz joined Oracle Corporation in April 1999. She was appointed to the company's board of directors in 2001. In 2004, she was named President of Oracle, a role she shared with Charles Phillips until 2010. In 2011, she became the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
In September 2014, Catz was appointed as co-CEO of Oracle alongside Mark Hurd. Following Hurd's death in 2019, Catz became the sole CEO of the company.
Achievements and Recognition[edit | edit source]
Under Catz's leadership, Oracle has continued to grow and expand its cloud computing services. She has been recognized as one of the most powerful women in business by various publications, including Forbes and Fortune.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Catz is married to Gal Tirosh, and they have two children. She is known for her low public profile and rarely gives interviews.
