Salfordville, Pennsylvania

Salfordville is a small unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in the township of Lower Salford, and is known for its rural character and close proximity to the city of Philadelphia.

History

Salfordville was established in the early 18th century by settlers of German descent. The community was originally part of the larger Salford Township, which was divided into Upper and Lower Salford in 1741. The village was named after the township, which in turn was named after the town of Salford in Lancashire, England.

Geography

Salfordville is located in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania, approximately 35 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The community is situated in the Perkiomen Valley, surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. The Perkiomen Creek flows nearby, providing opportunities for fishing and boating.
