San Leandro is a city located in Alameda County, California, United States. It is situated on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay, between the cities of Oakland to the northwest and Hayward to the southeast.

San Leandro was first inhabited by the Ohlone people. The area was later colonized by the Spanish Empire in the 18th century. The city was incorporated on March 21, 1872, and has since grown into a vibrant community.
