From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Sandy's is a popular American fast-food restaurant chain, primarily located in the Midwest. It was established in the early 1960s and is known for its classic American fare, including hamburgers, hot dogs, and milkshakes.

History[edit | edit source]

Sandy's was founded in 1960 by four business partners: Gus "Brick" Lundberg, Robert C. Wenger, Paul White, and Harold Shostrom. The first location was in Peoria, Illinois, and the chain quickly expanded throughout the Midwest. By 1973, Sandy's had over 240 locations across the United States.

Menu[edit | edit source]

The menu at Sandy's is a classic representation of American fast food. It includes a variety of hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, and milkshakes. Some of the most popular items include the Big Scot, a double-decker hamburger, and the Deluxe Fish Sandwich.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Despite its relatively short lifespan, Sandy's has left a lasting impact on the American fast-food industry. It was one of the first chains to offer a double-decker hamburger, a concept that has since been adopted by many other restaurants. Today, while many of the original Sandy's locations have closed or been converted into other restaurants, the brand is still remembered fondly by many Midwesterners.
