From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Security is a measure taken to guard against crime, attack, sabotage, espionage, etc. It is a state of being free from danger or threat. The term can be used in a variety of contexts such as personal security, financial security, food security, home security, computer security, etc.

Personal Security[edit | edit source]

Personal security is a general condition that suggests freedom from fear or anxiety, and the assurance that measures are in place to provide a degree of protection from adverse or damaging circumstances.

Financial Security[edit | edit source]

Financial security refers to the peace of mind you feel when you aren't worried about your income being enough to cover your expenses. It also means that you have enough money saved to cover emergencies and your future financial goals.

Food Security[edit | edit source]

Food security is a measure of the availability of food and individuals' ability to access it. According to the United Nations' Committee on World Food Security, food security is defined as the means that all people, at all times, have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their food preferences and dietary needs for an active and healthy life.

Home Security[edit | edit source]

Home security includes both the security hardware placed on a property and individuals' personal security practices. Security hardware includes doors, locks, alarm systems, lighting, motion detectors, and security camera systems.

Computer Security[edit | edit source]

Computer security, cybersecurity or information technology security is the protection of computer systems and networks from information disclosure, theft of or damage to their hardware, software, or electronic data, as well as from the disruption or misdirection of the services they provide.
