- Shady Spring is a census-designated place (CDP) in Raleigh County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 2,998 at the 2010 census. It is a family-oriented community, with a low crime rate and a high-quality school system.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Shady Spring is located at 37°44′37″N 81°5′8″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.1 square miles (15.8 km²), all of it land.
History[edit | edit source]
- Shady Spring was incorporated in 1904. The community was named for a spring within a grove that provided shade. The spring has since been covered to make way for a parking lot.
