Shreddies

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Shreddies is a brand of cereal produced by Nestlé. First introduced in the UK in 1953, Shreddies are made from lattices of whole grain wheat.

History[edit | edit source]

Shreddies were first produced in the United Kingdom in 1953 by the Nabisco company. In 1988, the brand was acquired by Nestlé following their purchase of Nabisco's cereal division. Shreddies are now sold in several countries, including Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Product Description[edit | edit source]

Shreddies are made by weaving together layers of whole grain wheat. This unique process gives the cereal its distinctive square shape and lattice texture. Each serving of Shreddies provides a source of fiber, as well as essential vitamins and minerals.

Varieties[edit | edit source]

Over the years, several different varieties of Shreddies have been introduced. These include Frosted Shreddies, Honey Shreddies, and Coco Shreddies. Each variety offers a different flavor twist on the original Shreddies recipe.

Marketing[edit | edit source]

Shreddies have been marketed with a number of different advertising campaigns over the years. One of the most memorable is the "Knitted by Nanas" campaign, which humorously suggested that each individual Shreddie was hand-knitted by a team of grandmothers.
