History[edit | edit source]

Sierra Mist was first introduced by PepsiCo in 1999 as a direct competitor to Sprite. The original formula contained high fructose corn syrup and several artificial sweeteners. In 2010, the formula was changed to remove the artificial sweeteners, and the drink was rebranded as Sierra Mist Natural.

In 2014, Sierra Mist underwent another rebranding, this time as a limited-time offer called Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash. The flavor proved popular and became a regular offering. In addition, the brand introduced several other limited-time flavors, including Sierra Mist Ruby Splash, Sierra Mist Lemon Squeeze, and Sierra Mist Undercover Orange.

In 2018, Sierra Mist Natural was discontinued and replaced with a new version called Sierra Mist, which contains high fructose corn syrup and natural flavorings.
