Sikkim Manipal University
Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is a co-educational public-private funded university located in Gangtok, Sikkim, India. Established in 1995, it is the first government-private initiative in the region. SMU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Government of India. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Management, and Science & Humanities.

Sikkim Manipal University was established in 1995, as a result of an agreement between the Government of Sikkim and the Manipal Pai Foundation. The aim was to provide quality education to students in the North Eastern region of India and to promote the educational standing of the state of Sikkim.
Campus[edit | edit source]
The university has two main campuses: the Medical campus based in Gangtok and the Technology campus in Majitar, East Sikkim. The campuses are equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure to support the academic and extracurricular pursuits of the students.
