- Silver Bow County is a county located in the U.S. state of Montana. As of the 2020 census, the population was 34,915. Its county seat is Butte. The county was established in 1881 and named after the Silver Bow Creek.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Silver Bow County is located in the southwestern part of Montana. It is bordered by Deer Lodge County to the north, Jefferson County to the east, Madison County to the south, and Beaverhead County to the west. The county has a total area of 718 square miles, of which 716 square miles is land and 2.0 square miles is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
- As of the 2020 census, there were 34,915 people, 14,467 households, and 8,729 families residing in the county. The population density was 48.7 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 92.5% White, 0.6% Black or African American, 2.9% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.1% from other races, and 2.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.9% of the population.
