It is known for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant local traditions, and picturesque landscapes. The region is characterized by its flat plains, which are ideal for agriculture, and its numerous lakes and rivers.
Geography[edit | edit source]
South Ostrobothnia is bordered by the regions of Central Ostrobothnia, Ostrobothnia, Central Finland, Pirkanmaa, and Satakunta. The region covers an area of approximately 13,999 square kilometers. The landscape is predominantly flat, with vast fields and numerous lakes, including the notable Lake Lappajärvi, which is a crater lake formed by a meteorite impact.
