Spaghettieis
Spaghettieis is a type of ice cream dish from Germany that is made to look like a plate of Spaghetti. It was created by Dario Fontanella, an Italian ice cream maker in Mannheim, Germany in 1969.
History[edit | edit source]
Dario Fontanella first created Spaghettieis in the late 1960s. He was inspired by his love for spaghetti and wanted to create an ice cream dish that resembled this popular Italian dish. After several attempts, he finally succeeded in creating a dish that not only looked like spaghetti, but also tasted delicious.
Preparation[edit | edit source]
Spaghettieis is made by pressing vanilla ice cream through a potato ricer to create strands of ice cream that resemble spaghetti. The "spaghetti" is then topped with strawberry sauce to mimic the look of tomato sauce. Finally, white chocolate shavings or grated coconut is sprinkled on top to represent the parmesan cheese.
Popularity[edit | edit source]
Spaghettieis is a popular dessert in Germany, especially during the summer months. It is often served in ice cream parlors and restaurants. Despite its popularity in Germany, Spaghettieis is not widely known or available in other countries.
Variations[edit | edit source]
There are several variations of Spaghettieis. Some versions use different flavors of ice cream, while others use different types of sauces or toppings. For example, some versions use chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce, while others use fruit-flavored ice cream and fruit sauces.
