Spring Grove Hospital Center is a psychiatric hospital located in Catonsville, Maryland. It is one of the oldest psychiatric institutions in the United States, with a history dating back to 1797. The origins of Spring Grove Hospital Center can be traced back to 1797 when it was established in Baltimore as the Public Hospital for Persons of Insane and Disordered Minds. Over the years, the facility underwent several name changes, finally becoming Spring Grove Hospital Center in the 20th century.
