From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

St. Mary's Regional Medical Center is a hospital located in Enid, Oklahoma. It was founded in 1915 as Enid Government Springs Sanatorium by Dr. G.A. Boyle and Dr. T.B. Hinson. Ownership and operations were transferred to the Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood in 1937. The hospital was renamed St. Mary's Springs Hospital after the death of Dr. Hinson in 1938. Over the years, the hospital underwent several renovations and expansions. It trained nurses at Enid High School from 1915 to 1951 and at Phillips University from 1971 to 1973. The hospital faced damage from flooding in 1947, 1957, and 1973. The Adorers of Wichita sponsored the hospital from 1937 to 1995, and the Sisters of Mercy Health System took ownership in 1995, renaming it St. Mary's Mercy Hospital. Universal Health Services has owned the hospital since 2000. St. Mary's Regional Medical Center currently has 245 beds.
