Stereoscopic acuity
Stereoscopic acuity is the ability of the visual system to perceive depth and three-dimensional structure from binocular disparity—the slight difference in viewpoints between the two eyes. This capability is a fundamental aspect of human and many animals' vision, allowing for the perception of the relative distance of objects in one's environment. Stereoscopic acuity is crucial for tasks that require precise depth judgments, such as driving, surgery, and in various sports.
