Stowe, Pennsylvania
Stowe is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is part of the Pottstown Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Stowe is located at 40°14′58″N 75°41′15″W (40.249444, -75.687500). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km²), all of it land.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,695 people, 1,512 households, and 1,024 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,487.7 people per square mile (961.2/km²). There were 1,612 housing units at an average density of 1,084.6/sq mi (419.1/km²).
Education[edit | edit source]
Stowe is served by the Pottsgrove School District. Schools in the district include Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School, Ringing Rocks Elementary School, West Pottsgrove Elementary School, Pottsgrove Middle School, and Pottsgrove High School.
Transportation[edit | edit source]
Stowe is accessible by Pennsylvania Route 100, which provides connections to Interstate 76 and U.S. Route 422.

- John Hartranft, Medal of Honor recipient and 17th Governor of Pennsylvania, was born in Stowe.
- James Endress, professional baseball player, was born in Stowe.
