Super Rugby
Super Rugby is a professional men's rugby union competition involving teams from Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. It is one of the premier rugby union competitions in the Southern Hemisphere and is governed by SANZAAR (South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and Argentina Rugby).

Super Rugby began in 1996 as the Super 12, with 12 teams from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The competition expanded to 14 teams in 2006, becoming the Super 14, and further expanded to 15 teams in 2011, becoming Super Rugby. In 2016, the competition expanded to 18 teams, including teams from Argentina and Japan. However, the format was revised again in 2018, reducing the number of teams to 15.

The competition format has evolved over the years. The current format, as of 2021, features 12 teams from Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. The teams are divided into two regional pools, and the season culminates in a playoff series to determine the champion.
