TAN-67

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

TAN-67 is a drug that acts as a potent and selective agonist for the delta opioid receptor.[1] It has analgesic effects and is used in scientific research. TAN-67 has been found to protect against ischemia-induced neuronal damage in the hippocampus of rats.[2]

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

TAN-67 is a selective delta opioid receptor agonist, meaning it binds to and activates these receptors in the body. This activation is responsible for the drug's analgesic effects.[3]

Medical Uses[edit | edit source]

While TAN-67 is primarily used in scientific research, its analgesic properties suggest potential therapeutic applications. Its ability to reduce ischemia-induced neuronal damage could make it a valuable tool in the treatment of conditions such as stroke and other forms of brain injury.[4]
