Taco Mac
Taco Mac[edit | edit source]
Taco Mac is a chain of sports bar-style restaurants based in the United States, primarily located in the Southeastern United States. Known for its wide selection of craft beer and chicken wings, Taco Mac has become a popular destination for sports enthusiasts and families alike.
History[edit | edit source]
Taco Mac was founded in 1979 by two friends from Buffalo, New York, who moved to Atlanta, Georgia with the idea of bringing the Buffalo wing to the South. The first location was opened in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta. The founders chose the name "Taco Mac" because the building they leased had previously been a Mexican restaurant, and they decided to keep the name to save on signage costs.
Over the years, Taco Mac expanded its menu beyond wings and beer to include a variety of American and Tex-Mex dishes. The chain grew steadily, opening new locations throughout Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.
Menu[edit | edit source]
Taco Mac's menu is diverse, offering a range of appetizers, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. However, the restaurant is best known for its chicken wings, which are available in a variety of flavors and heat levels. Customers can choose from traditional bone-in wings or boneless wings, with sauces ranging from mild to extremely hot.
In addition to wings, Taco Mac offers a selection of tacos, quesadillas, and nachos, reflecting its Tex-Mex influence. The restaurant also features a "Build Your Own Burger" option, allowing customers to customize their burgers with a variety of toppings.
Beer Selection[edit | edit source]
Taco Mac is renowned for its extensive beer selection, boasting over 100 beers on tap at many locations. The chain emphasizes local and regional craft beers, providing a platform for smaller breweries to reach a wider audience. Taco Mac's "Brewniversity" program encourages customers to try different beers, rewarding them with prizes and recognition for sampling a wide variety of brews.
Atmosphere[edit | edit source]
Taco Mac locations are designed to be casual and family-friendly, with a lively atmosphere that appeals to sports fans. The restaurants are equipped with numerous television screens, broadcasting a wide range of sports events, making it a popular spot for watching games.
Expansion and Growth[edit | edit source]
Since its inception, Taco Mac has grown from a single location to a well-known chain with multiple locations across the Southeast. The brand has maintained its commitment to quality food and a welcoming atmosphere, which has contributed to its enduring popularity.
