Tambra Raye Stevenson was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Oklahoma State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences. She later obtained a Master's degree in Public Health from Tufts University.

Stevenson began her career as a public health nutritionist, focusing on community health and wellness. She has worked with various organizations, including the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health, to promote healthy eating and lifestyle habits.
In 2016, Stevenson founded Women Advancing Nutrition Dietetics and Agriculture (WANDA), a non-profit organization that aims to empower African diaspora women and girls through nutrition, wellness, agriculture, and advocacy. WANDA operates in the United States, Nigeria, and other African countries.
