Tang Prize
Tang Prize
The Tang Prize is a set of biennial international awards bestowed in recognition of significant contributions in the fields of sustainable development, biopharmaceutical science, sinology, and rule of law. Established in 2012 by Taiwanese entrepreneur Samuel Yin, the prize aims to honor and promote the development of human civilization.
History[edit | edit source]
The Tang Prize was established by Samuel Yin in 2012, inspired by the Nobel Prize. The prize seeks to complement the Nobel by recognizing achievements in fields not covered by the Nobel Prizes. The inaugural awards were presented in 2014.
Award Categories[edit | edit source]
The Tang Prize is awarded in four categories:
- Sustainable Development: Recognizes achievements that contribute to the sustainable development of human society, including environmental protection, energy conservation, and ecological balance.

- Sinology: Celebrates outstanding research and contributions to the understanding of Chinese culture, history, and society.
- Rule of Law: Acknowledges efforts to promote the rule of law, human rights, and justice.
