Tešanj

Tešanj is a town and municipality located in the Zenica-Doboj Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the northern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, near the city of Doboj.

The town of Tešanj is one of the oldest towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a rich history dating back to the Neolithic period. The first written mention of Tešanj dates back to 1461, during the period of the Ottoman Empire. The town is known for its well-preserved Tešanj Castle, which is one of the largest and most significant fortifications in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tešanj is located in the northern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Bosnia region. The town is situated on the Tešanjka River, a right tributary of the Bosna River. The municipality of Tešanj is surrounded by the municipalities of Doboj, Maglaj, Gračanica, and Teslić.
