Ten is the natural number following nine and preceding eleven. It is the first double-digit number and is considered a decade in the decimal system, which is the most widely used numerical system in the world.

In mathematics, ten is a composite number and the sum of the first four prime numbers (2, 3, 5, and 7). It is also the base of the decimal system, which is the standard system for denoting integer and non-integer numbers. The decimal system is also known as the base-10 system.
