The Angel

The Angel is a 2018 Israeli-American spy thriller film directed by Ariel Vromen and written by David Arata. The film is based on the non-fiction book The Angel: The Egyptian Spy Who Saved Israel by Uri Bar-Joseph. It stars Marwan Kenzari, Toby Kebbell, Sasson Gabai, and Hannah Ware.

The film tells the story of Ashraf Marwan, an Egyptian official who became a spy for Israel during the Yom Kippur War. Marwan, who was the son-in-law of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the second President of Egypt, provided crucial intelligence to the Mossad, the national intelligence agency of Israel. His information is credited with helping Israel prepare for the Yom Kippur War and ultimately saving many lives.
