The Causeway Retreat

The Causeway Retreat was an addiction treatment center located on Osea Island near Essex, England. It operated from 2005 to 2010. The center was founded by Brendan Quinn, a psychiatric nurse with a diploma in addiction treatment, and Nigel Frieda, a music producer. The center provided treatment for individuals suffering from alcohol and opiate addiction. In return for treatment, clients would stay on the island and work the land. However, The Causeway Retreat was eventually closed down.
