Thomas Hamilton, 6th Earl of Haddington

Thomas Hamilton, 6th Earl of Haddington (c. 1680 – 1735) was a Scottish nobleman and politician. He was the son of Charles Hamilton, 5th Earl of Haddington, and Lady Mary Leslie. Thomas succeeded his father as the 6th Earl of Haddington upon his death.

Hamilton was actively involved in politics and served as a Member of Parliament for various constituencies, including East Lothian and Haddingtonshire. He held several important positions in the government, such as Lord of the Bedchamber to King George I.

In addition to his political career, Hamilton was known for his philanthropic activities. He supported various charitable causes and was a patron of the arts. Hamilton was also a prominent figure in the social circles of his time, known for his wit and charm.

Thomas Hamilton, 6th Earl of Haddington, passed away in 1735, leaving behind a legacy of public service and philanthropy. He was succeeded by his son, Charles Hamilton, 7th Earl of Haddington.
