Thornbridge Brewery was founded in 2005 by Jim Harrison and Simon Webster. The brewery started its operations in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall, a large country house in Derbyshire. The initial brewing setup was a 10-barrel plant, which allowed the brewery to produce small batches of beer with a focus on quality and experimentation.

In 2009, due to increasing demand, Thornbridge Brewery expanded its operations by opening a new state-of-the-art brewery in Bakewell. This new facility enabled the brewery to increase its production capacity while maintaining its commitment to quality and innovation.
