Toombs County, Georgia is a county located in the southeastern part of the United States, within the state of Georgia. Established on August 18, 1905, it was named after Robert Toombs, a prominent figure in Georgia's history who served as a state legislator, U.S. Congressman, U.S. Senator, and the first Secretary of State of the Confederate States. Toombs County is part of the Vidalia Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the larger Savannah-Hinesville-Statesboro Combined Statistical Area.
