TosMIC

TosMIC (Tosylmethyl isocyanide) is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH₃C(SO₂)C₆H₄CH₂NC. The primary application of TosMIC is in the Van Leusen Reaction, where it is used to synthesize imidazoles from aldehydes or ketones. Besides imidazoles, TosMIC can also be employed in the synthesis of other heterocycles, including pyrroles and oxazoles, through various cycloaddition reactions.
