Traian Herseni (1907–1980) was a prominent Romanian sociologist and psychologist known for his contributions to the development of sociology in Romania. His work spanned several decades and included significant involvement in both academic and governmental roles.

Traian Herseni was born in 1907 in Transylvania, which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He pursued his higher education at the University of Bucharest, where he studied under the guidance of Dimitrie Gusti, a leading figure in Romanian sociology.
