Transgene is a biopharmaceutical company that specializes in the development of immunotherapy products for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases. The company was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Strasbourg, France.

Transgene was established in 1979 as a subsidiary of the Institut Mérieux, a French multinational company specializing in biotechnology. The company was initially focused on the development of genetic engineering technologies. In the early 2000s, Transgene shifted its focus towards the development of immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases.

Transgene's research and development activities are primarily focused on the development of viral vector-based immunotherapies. The company's product pipeline includes a number of oncolytic virus therapies, vaccines, and monoclonal antibody therapies.

Transgene's product portfolio includes TG4001, a therapeutic vaccine for the treatment of HPV-related diseases, and TG6002, an oncolytic virus therapy for the treatment of solid tumors. The company is also developing TG4050, a personalized immunotherapy for the treatment of solid tumors.
