Travel cot

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellnesspedia

Travel cot is a portable, lightweight bed designed for infants and young children. It is also known as a portable crib or a pack 'n play.

Design and Features[edit | edit source]

A travel cot typically has a metal or plastic frame, covered with a fabric shell. The shell often includes mesh panels for ventilation and visibility. Some models also include a removable bassinet insert for newborns, and a changing table attachment. The cot is designed to fold up compactly for transport and storage, often in a carrying case.

Uses[edit | edit source]

Travel cots are primarily used when a family is traveling or staying away from home, and needs a safe, familiar place for a baby or toddler to sleep. They can also be used at home as a playpen or spare bed.

Safety[edit | edit source]

Like all baby products, travel cots must meet certain safety standards. In the United States, these standards are set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Parents should always check that a travel cot meets these standards before purchasing.

Brands[edit | edit source]

There are many brands of travel cots available, including Graco, Chicco, and Joie. Each brand offers different features and designs, so parents can choose the one that best fits their needs and budget.
