Tsinghua University ( 清华大学
) is a major research university located in Beijing, China. Established in 1911, it is one of the most prestigious and influential universities in China and is consistently ranked among the top academic institutions in the world.

Tsinghua University was founded in 1911 as "Tsinghua College" on the site of a former royal garden belonging to the Qing dynasty. The university was established as a preparatory school for students who would be sent by the government to study in the United States. In 1925, it was renamed "National Tsinghua University" and began to offer undergraduate programs.
During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Tsinghua University, along with Peking University and Nankai University, relocated to Kunming and formed the National Southwestern Associated University. After the war, Tsinghua returned to Beijing and resumed its operations.

The Tsinghua University campus is located in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing, in the Haidian District, which is known for its concentration of universities and research institutions. The campus is renowned for its beautiful landscaping, traditional Chinese architecture, and modern facilities.
