Tylersport, Pennsylvania

Tylersport, Pennsylvania is a small unincorporated community located in Salford Township, in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, and is situated approximately 35 miles north of the city of Philadelphia.

Tylersport was established in the late 18th century and was named after the Tyler family, who were early settlers in the area. The community has a rich history, with many of its buildings and structures dating back to the 19th century.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Tylersport is located in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania, in the northern part of Montgomery County. It is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland, and is near the Perkiomen Creek, a tributary of the Schuylkill River.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

As an unincorporated community, Tylersport does not have its own population statistics. However, it is part of Salford Township, which as of the 2010 Census, had a population of 2,504.

The economy of Tylersport is largely based on local businesses and agriculture. The community is home to several small businesses, including a general store, a post office, and a fire company.

Tylersport is served by the Souderton Area School District, which operates several elementary, middle, and high schools in the area. The nearest high school is Souderton Area High School.

Tylersport is accessible by Pennsylvania Route 563, which runs through the community. The nearest major highway is Interstate 476, which is approximately 10 miles to the east.

While Tylersport is a small community, it has been home to several notable individuals, including John F. Reynolds, a general in the American Civil War.
