Tyskie[edit | edit source]

Tyskie is one of the most popular brands of beer in Poland, with a rich history dating back to the 17th century. It is named after the city of Tychy, where it is brewed in the Tyskie Browary Książęce (Tyskie Princely Brewery).

History[edit | edit source]

The Tyskie Browary Książęce was established in 1629, making it one of the oldest breweries in Europe. The brewery has been continuously operational for almost four centuries, surviving wars, occupations, and changes in ownership. The brand name "Tyskie" was first used in 1923.

Production[edit | edit source]

Tyskie beer is brewed using a traditional method that involves a two-stage fermentation process. The beer is made from high-quality ingredients, including malted barley, hops, yeast, and water. The brewery uses a combination of modern technology and traditional brewing techniques to produce its beer.

Varieties[edit | edit source]

There are several varieties of Tyskie beer, including Tyskie Gronie, Tyskie Książęce, and Tyskie Summer Ale. Each variety has its own unique taste and characteristics.

Awards[edit | edit source]

Tyskie beer has won numerous awards at international beer competitions. In 2002, it won the Gold Medal at the Brewing Industry International Awards, often referred to as the "Beer Oscars". It has also won awards at the World Beer Cup and the European Beer Star competition.

Distribution[edit | edit source]

Tyskie beer is widely available in Poland and is also exported to many countries around the world. It is particularly popular in the United Kingdom, where it is one of the best-selling imported beers.
