The University of Girona (UdG) (Catalan: Universitat de Girona) is a public university located in the city of Girona, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. It was established in 1991 and has since become a significant center for higher education and research in the region.

The origins of the University of Girona date back to the 16th century when the Estudi General de Girona was founded in 1446. However, the modern university was officially established in 1991, following the reorganization of the higher education system in Spain.
