Valneva SE is a biotechnology and vaccinology company that specializes in the development and commercialization of prophylactic vaccines for infectious diseases with major unmet needs. The company was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Saint-Herblain, France. Valneva's portfolio includes two commercial vaccines for travelers: IXIARO®/JESPECT® against Japanese encephalitis and DUKORAL® against cholera.

Valneva was established in 2013 following the merger of Intercell AG and Vivalis SA. The company's primary focus is on the development and commercialization of vaccines against infectious diseases.
Products[edit | edit source]
Valneva's product portfolio includes two commercial vaccines. IXIARO®/JESPECT® is a vaccine against Japanese encephalitis, a disease transmitted by mosquitoes in Asia. DUKORAL® is an oral vaccine against cholera, a disease caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae.
Research and Development[edit | edit source]
Valneva is also involved in the research and development of new vaccines. The company's pipeline includes candidates for vaccines against Lyme disease, Zika virus, and the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19.
