Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the design and development arm of The Walt Disney Company, responsible for the creation, design, and construction of theme parks and attractions worldwide. The organization also oversees the development of resorts, cruise ships, and other entertainment venues.

Walt Disney Imagineering was founded by Walt Disney in 1952 under the name WED Enterprises, which stood for Walter Elias Disney. The company was initially created to design and build Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Over the years, the name evolved to Walt Disney Imagineering, reflecting the combination of imagination and engineering.
