Walter Fischer (1901–1978) was a notable German politician and resistance fighter during the Spanish Civil War. He was a member of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and played a significant role in the anti-fascist movement in Europe during the early 20th century.

During the Spanish Civil War, Fischer traveled to Spain to support the Republican forces against the Nationalists. He was part of the International Brigades, a group of foreign volunteers who fought to defend the Spanish Republic.
