Walter P. Lomax Jr.
Walter P. Lomax Jr. (July 31, 1932 – October 10, 2013) was an American physician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He was known for his contributions to the medical field, his business ventures, and his efforts to support and uplift the African American community.

Walter P. Lomax Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended La Salle University and later graduated from Hahnemann Medical College (now part of Drexel University College of Medicine) with a degree in medicine.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
Dr. Lomax began his medical career as a general practitioner in South Philadelphia. He was dedicated to providing quality healthcare to underserved communities. Over the years, he expanded his practice to include multiple clinics, serving thousands of patients.

In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Lomax was a successful entrepreneur. He founded Lomax Health Systems, which provided healthcare services and managed care programs. He also owned several radio stations, including WURD (AM), the only African American-owned and operated talk radio station in Pennsylvania.
