Wan Yanhai (born November 20, 1963) is a prominent Chinese public health and HIV/AIDS activist. He is best known for his work in raising awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in China and advocating for the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Wan Yanhai was born in China in 1963. He graduated from the School of Public Health at the Peking University Health Science Center in 1988. He later worked for the Chinese Ministry of Health.

Wan Yanhai began his career as a public health official in the Chinese Ministry of Health. He became involved in HIV/AIDS activism in the early 1990s. In 1994, he founded the Aizhixing Institute of Health Education, one of the first non-governmental organizations in China dedicated to HIV/AIDS education and advocacy.
