History[edit | edit source]

Warner Bros. Animation was founded in 1980 to succeed the original Warner Bros. Cartoons (formerly Leon Schlesinger Productions) which had been active from 1933 to 1969. The studio was established to continue the legacy of the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series, featuring characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig. Over the years, Warner Bros. Animation has expanded its range to include original programming and adaptations of other intellectual properties.

Productions[edit | edit source]

The studio is renowned for its rich catalog of animated television series such as Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, and Batman: The Animated Series. These series have been pivotal in defining the animation landscape on television and have received critical acclaim for their quality and innovation.

In addition to television series, Warner Bros. Animation has also produced numerous animated feature films. Some of these films, like Space Jam and its sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy, have combined live-action with animation, featuring collaborations with prominent sports figures like Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Impact and Legacy[edit | edit source]

Warner Bros. Animation has played a significant role in the advancement of animation as a form of media. The studio has been at the forefront of introducing new animation techniques and has been influential in the evolution of character animation.
