Washington State University
Washington State University (WSU) is a public university located in Pullman, Washington. Established in 1890, it is one of the oldest land-grant universities in the American West. WSU is known for its programs in agriculture, veterinary medicine, engineering, architecture, and communications.

Washington State University was founded on March 28, 1890, as the Washington Agricultural College and School of Science. The institution's name was changed to State College of Washington in 1905 and finally to Washington State University in 1959. The university has grown significantly over the years, expanding its academic offerings and research capabilities.
Campus[edit | edit source]
The main campus of WSU is located in Pullman, Washington, a small town in the southeastern part of the state. The campus is known for its beautiful setting and historic buildings, including the Bryan Hall and the Thompson Hall. WSU also has branch campuses in Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver.

WSU is home to several research centers and institutes, such as the Institute of Biological Chemistry and the Center for Environmental Research, Education, and Outreach.
Athletics[edit | edit source]
WSU's athletic teams are known as the Washington State Cougars. The university is a member of the Pac-12 Conference and competes in NCAA Division I. The Cougars have a strong tradition in sports such as football, basketball, and track and field. The university's mascot is Butch T. Cougar.
