Washington County is one of the 64 counties in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,814. The county seat is Akron. The county was named in honor of the United States President George Washington.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,524 square miles, of which 2,518 square miles is land and 5.1 square miles is water.

As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 4,814 people, 1,907 households, and 1,303 families residing in the county.
