Washington County, Kentucky[edit | edit source]

Washington County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 11,717. Its county seat is Springfield. The county was formed in 1792 from Nelson County and was named for George Washington, the first President of the United States. It was the first of 31 U.S. states to be named in his honor.
