Wells Enterprises, Inc. is a renowned American ice cream and frozen treat manufacturer based in Le Mars, Iowa. It is the largest privately held, family-owned ice cream and frozen treat manufacturer in the United States. The company was founded in 1913 by Fred H. Wells Jr. and is still owned by the Wells family.

Fred H. Wells Jr. purchased a horse, delivery wagon, a few milk cans and an ice cream recipe from a local dairy farmer in Le Mars, Iowa for $250. He began by selling milk door-to-door, which eventually led to the production of ice cream. The company has grown significantly since its inception and now produces over 150 million gallons of ice cream per year.

Wells Enterprises is known for its popular brands such as Blue Bunny, Bomb Pop, and Häagen-Dazs (only in the United States). The company also produces a variety of private label products.

Blue Bunny[edit | edit source]

Blue Bunny, established in 1935, is the flagship brand of Wells Enterprises. It offers a wide range of ice cream flavors, frozen dairy desserts, novelties, and frozen yogurt.

Bomb Pop[edit | edit source]

Bomb Pop, also known as the "Original Frozen Bomb Pop", was acquired by Wells Enterprises in 1991. It is a popular frozen treat, especially during the summer months.

Häagen-Dazs[edit | edit source]

Wells Enterprises manufactures and distributes Häagen-Dazs ice cream for the U.S. market under a license from General Mills.
