West Islip is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County, on the South Shore of Long Island, New York.

West Islip is bordered to the west by Babylon, to the east by Bay Shore, to the north by North Babylon, and to the south by the Great South Bay.

As of the 2020 census, the population of West Islip was 28,335. The area is predominantly residential, with a mix of single-family homes and small businesses.
