Western State Hospital (Kentucky)

Western State Hospital (Kentucky) is a psychiatric hospital located in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. It was established in 1854 and is one of the oldest mental health facilities in the state. The hospital provides comprehensive mental health services to individuals with severe mental illness.

The Western State Hospital was established in 1854 as the Western Lunatic Asylum. The hospital was initially designed to accommodate 400 patients. The hospital has undergone several name changes over the years, including Western Kentucky Asylum for the Insane and Western State Hospital.
