Wilcox County is a county located in the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 10,373. Its county seat is Camden, which was established in 1833. The county was named for Lieutenant Joseph M. Wilcox, a fighter in the Creek War.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Wilcox County is located in the southwestern part of Alabama, covering a total area of 907 square miles, of which 888 square miles is land and 19 square miles is water. The county is bordered by Dallas County to the north, Lowndes County and Butler County to the east, Monroe County and Clarke County to the south, and Marengo County to the west.
