Wing Zone

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Wing Zone is an American franchise specializing in chicken wings. Founded in 1991 by Matt Friedman and Adam Scott, the company has grown to include over 100 locations in the United States and abroad.

History[edit | edit source]

Matt Friedman and Adam Scott, two students at the University of Florida, founded Wing Zone in 1991. The idea was born out of a need for late-night food options for college students. The first location was a small operation run out of their fraternity house kitchen.

The company began franchising in 1999 and has since grown to include over 100 locations. Wing Zone has also expanded internationally, with locations in Saudi Arabia, Panama, and Malaysia, among others.

Menu[edit | edit source]

Wing Zone's menu primarily consists of chicken wings, but also includes other items such as chicken tenders, burgers, and sandwiches. The wings can be ordered with a variety of sauces, which are divided into categories based on their flavor profiles. These categories include Buffalo, BBQ, Sweet & Tangy, Spicy, Dry Rub, and Garlic.

Recognition[edit | edit source]

Wing Zone has received numerous awards for its wings and sauces. In 2006, the company won the National Buffalo Wing Festival's award for Festival Favorite. In 2012, Wing Zone's Nuclear Habanero sauce won the festival's award for Best Creative Spicy Sauce.
